Transkei Wild Coast tour
This 13 Day tour of the Wild coast is a gem of a tour. You stay in 3star
resorts, and spend a couple of nights in tents on the beach. The area reminds me of what
California might have looked like in the 1840's before the gold rush. The river
crossing are technical, the grasslands awesome to ride and everyone will have a
great time. A chase truck or Ranger is provided so if you get too tired, you can pack it
in. Game ranches are provided going and coming so you can get those animal shots
to prove you were in South Africa.
A DVD of this tour is available for only $15, which is completely credited
when you book your tour.
The
October issue of Quad magazine has a 14 page review of this tour.
ITINERARY
You start your tour with a Saturday departure to Johannesburg South Africa.
It will take about 20 hours to fly there, so you will arrive sometime Sunday.
On the Sunday evening prior to the tour you stay at the
Balalaika
hotel Sandton (a suburb of J-berg as the locals call it) a nice touch of luxury,
where you can touch base
with home via emails, do some last minute shopping, etc. However should you wish to sleep at
another hotel (early arrival etc) you must ensure you are at the entrance to the
Balalaika at 07H30 on Monday morning as we will depart at 08H00.

On Monday we will drive down at a steady pace in our custom tour bus down
towards Aliwal North to visit the hot springs and some interesting sites
on the way down.
On Tuesday we will drive the last few hours down to
Morgan Bay hotel where we
will be spending the night enjoying the sea and the hospitality.
